My graduate research focused on assessing the potential of antigen-directed treatments to correct autoimmune disorders. My work typically focused on determining immune cell response/health following treatment and often utilized primary splenocytes from a mouse model of multiple sclerosis known as experimental auotimmune encephalomyelitis. The primary focus of this research was on antigen-drug conjugates, which involves direct chemical conjugation of an immunosuppressant small molecule drug to peptide antigens of an autoimmune disease to direct action against offending immune cell populations.

My work focused on the development of bioassays for testing antibody potency. Namely, I worked on the early design of an immortalized cell-based assay intended to provide greater insight into the loss of potency associated with antibody degradation pathways. Additionally, I carried out design of experiments (DOE) to assess critical parameters in existing assay designs and to validate automated ELISA methods.
