Field Engineer - Southeast Us - Dewalt Structural Anchoring Systems
Enterprise Solution Sales and Account Management for DEWALT structural concrete anchoring systems. Provide engineering support and regular technical updates to Structural Engineers, Architects, Distributors, and Installers across the Southeast US. Use these presentation opportunities to develop strong customer relationships by building credibility as subject matter expert and reliable technical advisor. Actively modify communication style as necessary to fully understand the needs of various designers. Solve the immediate problem while always seeking suggestions for new products and applications for our Product Development Teams. Work with six distinct Local Marketing Teams and many distributor partners to identify and pursue anchor-specific opportunities within the region’s key markets. Regularly participate in trade shows and engineering association events to advertise products and design software, and interact with end-users.
Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical Designer and Project Manager in North America’s largest steel cord manufacturing facility. Maintain five year plan to meet expanding production requirements, research and develop budgets, determine ROI, and create project timelines. Execute a range of Capital and Expense projects with individual values up to $11M. Maintain and optimize the facility’s numerous existing automated material handling systems and specify requirements for new systems. Regular travel to Japan, working with machine development group to review safety of equipment and understand aspects of installation, operation, maintenance, and repair. Upon arrival of new equipment, direct a team of mechanical contractors to prepare/modify facility, then install, test, and release the new equipment to production. Solve safety and ergonomic issues by working with operators to understand their needs. Then use solid model design software to create custom guarding and material handling solutions. Once accepted by production team, develop detailed benefit analysis and implementation plans to present to Leadership Team for budgetary approval. Work with Purchasing Agents to select vendors and track fabrication process to deliver finished solution.

New product launch and implementation of ECOs. Maintain all APQP documentation. Perform time studies and run simulations to improve assembly line efficiency and output by re-ordering work stations and developing pick-to-light sequences. Modify production tooling to reduce scrap and rework. Work with material handling specialists to optimize delivery of components through careful design of in-line conveyor racks. Build prototype parts and assist in the planning and development of new products. Visit customers in the event of quality control issues, and present plans to eliminate possibility of re-occurrence. Maintain accurate facility drawings and plan emergency evacuation routes. Develop and updated PFMEA, operator assembly/rework instructions, PPAP, and performed SPC monitoring. Assist in setup and modification of large injection molding dies, as well as dimensional analysis of new parts.
