I spent five months working as a Corporate Communications Officer. I built upon my experience working on newspapers to further develop great working relationships, writing skills and create other skills such as creating press releases, dealing with enquiries from journalists and working to represent Chelmsford City Council, amongst other duties.

I spent two and a half years working for a range a daily and weekly newspapers, during this time I covered a wide range or stories and events. This experience taught me about the importance of time management as well as prioritising jobs and tasks. During my time working on newspapers I gained extensive experience writing for both print editions and news websites. I gained experience developing and adapting content for both print editions and websites, including using search engine optimisation, images, videos and live blogs for news websites.

I began my career in the media with work experience at the newspaper learning the basics such as telephone manner and building upon already great communication skills. This gave me invaluable insights into the industry.
