Horticulturist responsibilities include the cultivation and harvesting of various microgreens, edible flowers, succulents, basil, watercress, mixed lettuce, specialty herbs and indeterminate tomatoes. These crops are grown utilizing flood and drain, nutrient film technique, deep water culture and drain to waste hydroponic systems inside a greenhouse with supplemental lighting. In addition, CRG Grow maintains an off-site "Living Wall" inside the kitchen of Vida (a AAA Four Diamond Restaurant) and two traditional urban growing spaces. Data Manager responsibilities include the tracking of all costs and revenue so that a real-time, accurate accounting of production, as expressed in 'profitable dollars per square foot per 28 days' ($/ft2/mo) can be tracked. Routine nutrient solution, soil and plant tissue samples are tested at local laboratories to ensure accurate input recipes and crop health. This enables each crops cultivation and harvesting processes to be adjusted and refined, with the expressed intention of constantly improving the farms profitability.Communications and marketing responsibilities include hosting facility tours and managing the CRG Grow social media accounts, including Instagram and Facebook. This is a key tool for the farm to actively engage with customers, and our community, building lasting relationships.
