Environment Agency appointee to the Committee and chair of the Engagement Sub-Group.1. to ensure there are coherent plans for identifying, communicating and managing flood and coastal erosion risks across catchments and shorelines; 2. to promote efficient, targeted and risk-based investment in flood and coastal erosion risk management that optimises value for money and benefits for local communities; 3. to provide a link between the Environment Agency, LLFAs, other risk management authorities, and other relevant bodies to engender mutual understanding of flood and coastal erosion risks in its area.

Evolve East Anglia (CIC) is a Community Interest Company established in 2014. Originally the focus of the work was with children, their families and care leavers. However, increasingly the organisation was asked to work with adults and young people and this group has, over time become the primary focus of its work.I have provided guidance and support to the directors of this successful and values driven housing services CIC on governance arrangements, major contract opportunities and strategic direction, using my executive and mentoring experience to bring rigour and discipline. Working with the Chief Executive to define and deliver a coherent leadership offering during a period of increased service demand, reduced Government funding and an ambitious growth agenda. I provided leadership across Council services including Finance, Revenues, Benefits, Housing, Environmental Services, Human Resources and ICT. Successes include:• Major contributor in defining district priorities for Norfolk Health & Wellbeing Board. District representative on STP Prevention Board offering challenge and focus as well as championing innovation in ‘prevention’ e.g. with GPs for Home Improvement Agency pilot. • Strategic lead for successful £3.1m Warm Homes Fund bid addressing fuel poverty in Norfolk.• Established multi-agency Early Help Hub to address locality challenges through ‘prevention’.• Strategic lead on “Systems Thinking” based service improvement resulting in annual recurring savings of £447,000 by 2017.• Chair of multi-agency Greater Norwich Homelessness Forum with a focus in 2018-19 of developing a new Greater Norwich Homelessness Strategy. • Co-Chair, East of England branch of Society of Local Authority Chief Executives and Senior Managers (2013-2019) focused on supporting the learning & development of senior managers through regional seminars with national & regional speakers.

Working with the leadership team and Elected Members to reset the organisation following a period of political turbulence with focus on good governance, engagement and improving service efficiency. Successes include:• Jointly led organisation’s restructuring (2011) in response to national and local challenges. • Led Norfolk LGA Task Force which published county’s 1st climate change strategy (2008/09). • Established new Member training/development framework resulting in Broadland being the first in the region to achieve IDeA Member Development Charter status (2007). • Chaired ‘Norfolk Connect’ e-Government partnership (2003-07) overseeing expansion of joint Council Information Centres and £1.1m programme enhancing online developments. • Chaired Norfolk Community Cohesion Steering Group (2007-10) which developed county’s first community cohesion strategy and improved arrangements for reporting hate crime.

Wild Anglia is a Community Interest Company (CIC) and the Local Nature Partnership for Norfolk and Suffolk.
