As the Computer Systems Administrator at NASPO, I play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure and optimizing the efficiency of our organization. With a focus on hardware and software management, cloud administration, and security, my responsibilities included:-Global Administration of Microsoft 365 and Azure: Serving as the Global Administrator of NASPO’s Microsoft 365 and Azure tenant, I orchestrate our cloud environment to enhance productivity and collaboration. -Amazon Web Services Oversight: I oversee NASPO's cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, including EC2, Lambda, Backup, Lightsail, RDS, and other vital components, to maintain a robust, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure. -Diagnosing and Resolving Technical Issues: I lead the diagnosis and resolution of hardware and software problems, ensuring minimal disruption to end user operations.-Equipment Maintenance and Life-Cycle Management: I maintain NASPO's technology equipment, including laptops, desktops, printers, and computer accessories, to guarantee optimal functionality. This includes testing, purchasing, tracking, and recycling equipment as our needs dictate.-Systems and Software Configuration Optimization: I conduct research and recommend changes to improve system or software configurations. This includes finding ways to improve utilization of existing systems or software or finding new solutions in order to enhance productivity and cost effectiveness.-Performance Monitoring: I monitored and reported on key performance metrics related to the Technology Team, allowing us to make data-driven decisions.-User Training: I provided training to users on the use of hardware and software as needed, including new employee onboarding as well as on-demand training for specific systems and software.-Update and Maintenance Program: I oversaw a comprehensive hardware and software update and maintenance program, keeping our systems up to date and secure.

The original scope of my role at Murty Pharmaceuticals was to fill in the gaps that were being overlooked by what was, at the time, a single person IT shop. This included establishing regular server maintenance schedules and maintaining the operation of said servers, updating or creating documentation on systems that lacked up to date documentation, fielding user-related issues, and other day-to-day tasks that were required to maintain the environment and user experience.In between these tasks I was also able to assist my colleague with larger projects that he was working on. One such project was setting up, testing, and documenting an off-site backup repository from the ground up using VEEAM as the backup solution. In another project, we were tasked with setting up a segregated credit card payment system in keeping with current PCI regulations. Lastly, during this time, I headed up an upgrade of our VMware hypervisor software with minimal downtime for our users. After extensively researching system requirements and license limitations I was able to move forward and upgrade our hypervisor backend as well as the V Center management suite, resolving an issue we were running into with our virtualization management.After a few months working in this capacity, my coworker was offered another opportunity which he took. I was then approached by Murty Pharmaceuticals to take over in his role as IT Systems Engineer. In this position, I am now responsible for maintaining all the IT infrastructure which includes, but is not limited to: Active Directory, Windows Azure integration with Office 365 suite, the VOIP environment, the VMware virtualized environment, backup scheduling and maintenance, network infrastructure, antivirus, user desktops, vendor relations when dealing with specific application and hardware issues in our lab environment, and other tasks associated with maintaining the operational status and future planning of the business.

The scope of my job as the Garrison Information Systems Officer encompassed all IT assets not overseen by the Directorate of Information Management (DOIM). This included a small public access computer lab, managing and securing the public access Wifi, and the point of sale database and environment for the on-site restaurant.In my short time in this role, I was able to upgrade the entire computer lab at no cost to FMWR by collaborating with DOIM as they were also upgrading all workstations under their purview. These new systems replaced a mix of older insecure Windows XP desktops with newer Windows 10 desktops which I was able to then secure to help protect potential PII leaks.

I accepted the position of IT Geek just before moving to attend Eastern Kentucky University in pursuance of my bachelor's degree. The responsibilities of this student position included troubleshooting all manner of issues related to student technology devices. These devices ran the entire gambit of makes, models, and operating systems. Issues I helped resolve included virus and malware removal, issues with login credentials, and Office365.After half a year in the position, I was promoted to Lead Tech Coordinator. This was a supervisory position that added the responsibility of future project planning and employee training and supervision to the above-listed responsibilities.

This role was a tier 2 support position with added system administration responsibilities on top of the aforementioned tier 1 support responsibilities. New responsibilities included Windows server maintenance and monitoring, reporting, server deployments, off-site branch visits, software troubleshooting, security, group policy, and other tasks handed down. On top of these responsibilities, I was also instrumental in setting up and deploying the IT assets in two new branches as well as the setup and deployment of upgraded desktops in the entire organization. I also took the lead on upgrading the IT inventory tracking from an Excel spreadsheet to a barcode-based system, which significantly decreased the time required to complete annual IT inventory audits.

While in this position I primarily handled user issues, desktop support, user account creation/deletion, and special issues relating to the teller backend software. While in this position I also took lead on a project to implement the Credit Union's first help desk ticketing solution.
