My name is Matthew Drexler, and I'm currently seeking an entry level role in the chemical process industry.I graduated from The New Jersey Institute of Technology in May 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering. While at NJIT, I established and grew my passion for engineering and problem solving through the excellent experiences I had in my courses. The class that fascinated me the most was Process Dynamics and Control, where I tied subjects I have learned throughout college together and learned to develop theoretical and empirical models of dynamic processes. This culminated with me conducting a semester long project developing an empirical model to correlate temperature change due to change in screw speed in a twin screw PVC extruder with data that I had physically collected.Outside of the classroom, I was able to enrich and apply my education through a cooperative education experience with Infineum. Here I was able to utilize my skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership. This was done by working with the wonderful Power Transmission Fluids Development Group to create a test that screened for fluid conductivity over a range of temperatures and circuit board failure in a time that took less than one quarter of the time of the normal test that had originally been used.I am excited to connect with professionals in the chemical and manufacturing industries and start my career as an engineer!
