I work in the South West region for SCF, as part of my role I will typically offer procurement advice around public sector funded construction schemes. I have worked across a number of schemes across all three of our frameworks, which has given me a broad experience of general construction as well as the housing market and consultancy. As part of my role I form part of various SCF boards to provide strategic advice on framework level procurements, which allows me to apply some of the lessons learned into our current frameworks.Having advised on schemes from a wide value range (starting from £1m), I've gained experience of the typical challenges (and opportunities!) a project or programme may face at both ends of the scale.My role is one that helps to facilitate an integrated team approach for each scheme between clients, consultants and contractors (as well as us), to ensure each project maximises opportunities and minimises risk. I have set up PSC Pipeline to provide a solution for main contractors, consultants and specialist supply chain, to help them monitor leads in public sector construction. As part of my role with SCF I discovered that none of the major lead generation companies (Glenigan, Barbour etc.) were generating leads consistently for RIBA 1 or RIBA 2 schemes. This is largely based on their system approach being reliant on planning applications to generate project alerts and information.For me this was too late, so I created a process for my region (South West) to try and unearth more general construction schemes in the public sector. The system I created uses a blend of research, which is augmented by AI and finally has my professional insight applied to it. The system is remarkably successful in discovering new schemes, so much so I decided to scale it up and turn it into a national subscription service.We have now got a database that covers the whole of England and have had the opportunity to compare our leads to that of the 'big 2' databases and we found that largely they didn't even have records for our RIBA 1 & RIBA 2 schemes. I'm extremely proud that I have managed to achieve this so quickly and would encourage anyone that's interested in having a look to get in touch. I have built the business with a regional focus, so there is no requirement to subscribe to all regions, you can cherry pick the ones that are relevant to you. This reflects that the product is suitable for main contractors and specialist supply chain of all sizes, not just tier 1s!

The owner of the Total Facilities Management strategy and ethic for Park Community School, with FM control of a 23-acre site with broad portfolio of differently aged, sized and purposed buildings, managing a 40-strong Soft Services & Site Staffing team including 3 Head of Services.- Successfully secured Salix funding for Park Community School to install energy-efficient technologies across the site, worth £360,000, which post-installation, has saved £44k in utility costs. Oversaw the design, installation, sign-off and handover of project works. - Secured a Capital Improvement Fund (CIF) grant to replace one of Park Community School buildings roofing systems, worth £370,000, as the part of the fast-tracked summer programme- Initially hired to design a brand new Facilities Management Strategy for the site to improve FM performance, motivating the team through considerable change and a major modernisation programme to improve site systems and commercial lettings revenue. - Managing the CapEX and investment budgets, as well as a revenue stream for all buildings, working with the Senior Management Team to develop annual strategies and priorities. - Driving optimum returns from £1.4million of revenue budgets per year.- Managing and administering the annual maintenance and repair programme. - Accountable for site Health, Safety & Environmental policies, processes and compliance. - Engaged with cross-school stakeholders as well as external parties including Architects, Building Contractors and members of the board to achieve buy-in to major capital investment projects as well as cultural health, safety and environmental changes. - Managing utilities and supplier relationships to maximise value from expenditure budgets.- Auditing and reviewing FM operations to identify weaknesses and improvement needs. - Collaborating with wider school leaders on safety, operational, disaster recovery and contingency plans, with a key focus on student and staff safety.

A key player across the operational team, working with leaders within various departments to drive FM operations and strategies, including through change. Trusted as a young leader within operations, this role refined my managerial style and demonstrated my ability to motivate teams through significant industry and brand changes.- A key player within the Regional Facilities Management Team to drive construction projects in line with schedules and budgets, with full accountability for the set-up of new retail sites. - Hired new Finance Managers and Operational Section Managers, along with various site-level teams to ensure that the first wave of recruits met business requirements. - Selected to set-up new retail and operational sites, project managing builds, refurbishments, the implementation of infrastructure and technical systems as well as warehousing and logistics. - Ensured completed statutory and company procedure compliance across all functions, including Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental targets. - Monitored and reviewed continuous improvement, HSE and performance in FM projects. - Line manager for FM and operational teams within various projects and BAU FM operations.- Implemented preventative and reactive maintenance strategies for assigned sites. - Managed commercial contracts with FM providers and 3rd party suppliers, supporting negotiations and re-tendering as required. - Actively promoted a health and safety positive culture across sites and within projects.
