Created and directs the Visual World Investigate Lab, a free public laboratory open every day that serves as a bridge between the public and the formal researchers in the Nature Research Center. The lab features robots, electronics, and over a dozen custom designed computer stations with touchscreens and augmented reality that teach about science and how.

Managed a Stable Isotope Laboratory. Operated and maintained equipment used for mass spectrometry, flow injection analysis and various sample preparation devices. Key responsibilities included supporting Rivernet, a program providing water quality data to DENR and the public, and supervising graduate student lab work. Other duties included lab maintenance.

Raleigh, NC

Performed technical duties that helped the public, and all levels of government protect and restore North Carolina's water quality. Primary duties included maintenance of the surface water body classification database (BIMS), ArcGIS map creation and website creation/maintenance. Designed educational brochures and assisted with presentations to the general.

Jacksonville, FL

Worked with state and federal governmental agencies, land developers, and environmental scientists to complete environmental permit applications. Performed both small and large-scale wetland delineations,natural community assessments, impact assessments, mitigation design and monitoring plans, and conducted protected species studies.
