I started my career as a medic in the U.S. Army. The rich experiences and great mentors that I had during 10 years on active duty helped me develop both operational and strategic instincts that served me well throughout my professional life:+ Two deployments as the medical advisor for a U.S. Embassy Civil-Military Support Element assisting the U.S. Ambassador with civil-military programs and projects that support U.S. and host-nation objectives.+ Extensive experience working with government leaders, ministers and senior officials, and NGO leaders to establish and seek alignment and support for large-scale health initiatives in emerging and developing countries.+ Designing and organizing medical outreach events sponsored by the U.S. Embassy Civil-Military Support Element and hosted by local national personnel. + Providing strategic advice via technical expertise in evaluating medical systems. Preparing written medical infrastructure assessments, executive summaries, and other briefing memorandums. After retiring from the Army in 2018, I transitioned into a strictly direct patient care role providing outpatient psychiatry services as physician assistant. I oversaw a diverse patient population with complex problems, always striving to compassionately influence individual personal transformation and positive mental health outcomes.
