I had the opportunity to do my internship at Infinity Laboratories. I performed chemical tests for products using instrumentation such as pH and conductivity meters, Automatic titrators, Karl Fisher and basic HPLC and LCMS. I assessed test results, reported them in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and filed laboratory paper work (OOS, NR) when necessary. I prepared standards and samples to known concentrations through proper pipet use and compared them to make sure that they were in agreement.

Under the direction of a faculty mentor, I performed work on a organic chemistry project involving the formation of imine derivatives. I operated instrumentation to obtain results on newly formed compounds (HNMR, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, IR Spectroscopy). I lead research group in preparing and running chemical reactions safely, analyzing, and purifying newly formed products via column chromatography I performed research on chemical reagents to determine proper mole to mole ratios to ensure successful reactions. The details of these reactions are recorded in great detail in a laboratory notebook.
