Matt joined the Engineering & Asset Management team (previously the Property and Environmental Services team) within the Infrastructure, Assets & Places division of KPMG, to continue to provide property owners and operators with improvement strategies for their assets. With qualifications in NABERS and Greenstar, along with over 20 years industry experience, Matt is focused on ESG strategies, decarbonisation, electrification, building efficiency improvement, waste management, capital and lifecycle planning, formal ratings and operational cost reduction. His passion for sustainability, combined with the vast global resources of KPMG, ensure that his clients are able to unlock their full potential.

As the Regional Manager – Facilities for WA and SA, Matt oversaw the facility operations for seven major shopping centres and numerous commercial and residential assets.Main objectives of the role included• Preparation of environmental planning strategies• Deliver a range of contract deliverables (cleaning, HVAC, fire, electrical, waste, vertical transport, landscaping, plumbing, hygiene)• Financial management of R&M budgets in excess of $20m• Capital works planning and lifecycle plan development• Oversee risk management, compliance auditing and quality assurance• Engage with senior leaders and joint venture partners for project and budget approvals• Manage a team of 25 across seven assets over two states• Assist on development projects including Westfield Carousel, Stirling and Booragoon

As the Regional Manager I am responsible for all the traditional Facility Management duties over Westfield Innaloo, Innaloo Mega Centre, Shoppers Village and Innaloo Cinema, as well as over-seeing Westfield Whitford City and Carousel operations.As part of the Scentre Group National Facility Management team, our priorities are improving compliance, safety, asset management, capital strategies, environmental and contractor management. Our strategy is to improve the infrastructure to ensure that our customer and tenants can succeed.

Matt's role with IBMS is two fold: Business Development and Consulting.Business Development - to enhance the brand and awareness of the market to the immense experience and expertise within the team at IBMS. To challenge the existing building market to find cost effective ways to reduce their environmental impact. To introduce IBMS into new markets and tackle emerging areas requiring our specific skills. To link in with like-minded companies to collaborate and produce the best result for our clients. To find promotional and sponsorship opportunities to further enhance our brand. To educate our clients to the challenges in our industry, the best outcomes and methods to achieve high performance. Consulting – to use my skills and experience to the existing building market to identify inefficiencies, provide solutions (not products) for improvement, project manage and performance manage the outcomes. Metering and building system compliance (for billing, performance and NABERS) has become something of a personal and professional mission to me. Outside of the two main objectives - to confront the norms of 'this is how we have always done it".

IUtilities provided embedded network solutions including metering, data management and billing services. The company had over 2000 residential units under management.Matt's role was to manage the entire data flow, through metering systems, processing, validation, tariff management, statement generation and reconciliation. The role required the development of a customised software solution to systematically collect the raw data and create reconciled accounts for the strata owners.

As Head of Consulting at HFM Asset Management, Matt is responsible for the coordination and management of the consulting team.
