Usnh Guam

Staff Nurse at USNH Guam in Multi Service Unit and cross trained and currently fully qualified in the Intensive Care Unit to include training on Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy. Provide assessment, care, and administering of medications to patients that range from newborn to geriatric as well as Critically Ill patients on ventilators in ICU. Coordinate medical tests, interprets results and notifies Medical Doctors of results and carry out medical orders. Serves as Charge Nurse and supervises and trains RN’s and Corpsmen during daily care of patients.

Started in Emergency Department and transferred to Intensive Care Unit as full time Staff Nurse for two years. I continue as a part time Staff Nurse II to present day working both units and am part of the Rapid Response Team at Guam Memorial Hospital. Provide assessment, care, and administering of medications to critically ill patients that range from teenage to geriatric. Coordinate medical tests, interprets results, titrate medication in hemodynamically instable and ventilated patients. Notifies Medical Doctors of results and carry out medical orders. Maintains certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Trauma Nursing Core Course, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Emergency Pediatric Care as well as Basic Life Support. Instructor of Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Guam

Provide Critical Nursing Care for patients during emergency Med-Evacuation flights across the Western Pacific. Review each flight with Medical Director and pilots for Operational Risks and methods to mitigate these risks involved in transporting Critically Ill Patients. Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring flight training program for medical flight crews. Provide recurring training for crews.

Naval Base Guam

Provided the command, control, and communications (C3) to Commander Joint Region Marianas (CJRM) in order to maintain 24/7/365 situational awareness and operational focus. Provided precise and timely reports to the Commander and staff relating to threats, hazards, incidents and emergencies. Routinely collaborated with Higher Headquarters, Homeland Defense and Local Emergency Management Officials in response to natural disasters, unexploded ordinance, terror threats, and Military Theater threats. Routinely briefed CJRM, Senior Officers and Staff Members of the Joint Region. Participated in exercise Citadel Shield, Pakyo, Terminal Fury, Vigilant Guard. Real World experience in JRM response to typhoons, earthquakes and tsunamis. Completed over twenty Federal Emergency Management Courses.
