    As Enterprise Digital Architect I was responsible for traditional IT functions for the 4000+ users at Swansea Council and the digital systems used by our 125,000 citizens. I managed a team made up of around 80 staff delivering business as usual server, desktop and network support, infrastructure projects, software development, web content and marketing, software support, service desk and enterprise architecture. I was also responsible for customer-facing digital services such as the CMS, Website, Citizen authentication and identity managementKey Achievements:▪ Established the enterprise architecture function to improve governance of the sprawling software estate. ▪ Established the digital strategy for the Council’s elements of the City Deal which involved identifying Smart City initiatives, planning a Dark Fibre network to support future generations and drive investment in Swansea. ▪ Created the digital strategy for the council’s City of Culture 2021 bid finishing second in the UK-wide competition.▪ Modernised the organisations building services through the implementation of a field service solution, saving more than £1m annually through optimised work teams.▪ Lead for the ERP migration project which saw Swansea be the first council in Wales to migrate to a fully SaaS, cloud-based ERP platform in a £10m project.▪ Commissioned a redesign of the PSBA network services for schools, which managed a massive infrastructure investment to give schools individual internet feeds, transforming their ability to deliver digital learning in the classroom.▪ Lead Office 365 architect, led Swansea to be the first Welsh Council to procure and migrate to Office 365, establishing a model for the rest of Wales.▪ Insourcing of more than 100 members of staff from Cap Gemini in 2015

    As Lead Web Applications Officer, I was responsible for the creation and implementation of the Swansea Edunet learning platform, based upon SharePoint.I was responsible for plastering over SharePoint and customising the interface so that readers didn't even realise they were using SharePoint. I did this by developing a bespoke CMS that was cross-browser compatible and provided important information not normally obtainable through SharePoint's interface such as quota usage level.I developed Google Apps integration into the portal, and a system for remotely accessing file shares called My Drive. I created a powerful news tool, forum system, and social bookmarking application.When we had a change of personnel, I took over and delivered the Children's University application, a tool that saves the department using it in the region of 40 days labour each year.
