Rising Star Camp works with at-risk youth in an attempt to give them a normal camp experience while allowing for a safe place to work on goal setting, conflict resolution, teamwork, and other life skills. Some of my responsibilities included:Facilitating an environment that promoted self-esteem, where youth could learn conflict resolution skills and work toward success in their daily lives.Helping each kid to set personalized goals each day.Supervising kids and coordinating with other counselors to ensure that everyone was where they needed to be. Required constant vigilance.

This was a summer internship position in the McCall Foundation's Outpatient Program that involved working side by side with counselors and aiding clients in their recovery.
