Participated in research considering gauge field theories on discrete fibre bundles and explored their connection to the Wolfram hyper-graph model of fundamental physics proposed by the Wolfram Physics Project. Also attended lectures on cloud applications, machine learning and neutral networks in the Wolfram language.Gauge field theories on principal fibre bundles.Abstract:The notion of symmetry is very powerful. Noether theorem tells us that every differentiable symmetry of the action of a physical system has a corresponding conservation law. In physics these symmetries are encoded in mathematical structures known as Lie groups. The defining feature of Lie groups along they are also differential manifolds. When combined with an underlying spacetime, usually Minkowski space, as well as a differential map form a mathematical object known as a fibre bundle. These spaces form the mathematical framework for the study of gauge field theories which form the mathematical basis for the Standard Model of particle physics which is the theory describing three of the four known fundamental forces in the universe, as well as classifying all known elementary particles. My project aims to construct and study discrete approximations to these continuous fibre bundles and relate them back to the Wolfram model, a purely discrete model of fundamental physics. In this project I was able to construct discrete approximations to fibre bundles given a discrete subgroup of a Lie-group and a discrete spacetime in the form of an undirected graph. Following this, the next goal was to calculate physically quantities on these discrete bundles. In the literature there is a discrete analogue of magnetic flux which one can use to scan the bundle for magnetic monopoles and study the resulting distribution, much more research needs to go into understanding these discrete bundles. A few examples of dynamics are introduced with the intention of relating these bundle back to the Wolfram model.
