I make key strategic and operational decisions for Herbert & Mason Ltd, a company which manages exchange traded oil futures, and combines both fundamental and technical analysis to identify value in the marketplace.On top of the day-to-day management of the firm, my main role is to ensure we always have a well-balanced and hedged portfolio across all markets.

Part of a team trading both ICE Brent and CME West Texas Intermediate futures.

Team principal Mark Godwin hired me to work for the team after a successful two years in Formula Renault and Formula BMW. I worked with two drivers; one who needed work on the technicalities behind his driving, and the other who struggled with the psychological aspect. By the end of the championship both drivers were on the top two steps of the podium with a win and a second place.

I was a last-minute entry for the last 2 rounds of the highly competitive Formula 4 Championship, and managed to beat many experienced drivers including the 2013 champion, whilst setting fastest lap in the final round at Donington Park.

This was my first year of car racing. I raced in the 2011 Formula Renault Championship for team MGR. I finished 6th in the championship as 'top rookie' and won the last round at Silverstone, live on ITV and in front of 40,000+ spectators. This was a great achievement as I had arguably the least experience out of anyone on the grid.I also entered into the Winter series after being out of the car for a year, and again against drivers with much more experience, I won the race live on ITV again - this time at Brands Hatch in tricky wet conditions, in front of 40,000+ spectators.

I finished 2nd in the championship, and learnt a lot about the engineering behind the scenes. This was mainly thanks to Peter Sieber who was a fantastic engineer and was invaluable to work with. Unfortunately our engine had a problem for the first half of the championship and it wasn't until the second half that we could afford a replacement. When remedied I dominated the latter part the championship.
