As the South Sound Green Cities Project Manager I work with the cities of Kent, Puyallup and Tacoma to help implement community based restoration on numerous city properties. The goal is to enhance the ecosystem health on approximately 5,000 acres of land for wildlife, water quality and human health. This work entails contract negotiation and billing, volunteer management, outreach, marketing, training and implementation of on-the-ground restoration. My duties also include expanding the green cities network of partners, participation in the Puyallup Watershed Initiative and maintaining a presence in the South Sound for Forterra on related issues of land use and conservation.

As Conservation Director at Seattle Audubon I focused on all elements of project management including creating and maintaining budgets, hiring, training, mentoring and supervising staff as well as up to twenty volunteers. Within this context I led several campaigns simultaneously including endangered species protection, urban forest preservation and state, regional and local policy advocacy. My goal is to help citizens and decision-makers understand the complexity of environmental issues, gain the technical skills necessary to make informed decisions and work collaboratively to solve problems; ultimately achieving their visions for healthier and more sustainable neighborhoods, communities and regions.
