I began my career in the summer of 2015 working with the state of New York on a wild turkey study, using radio transmitters to track their movement and survival. From there I began a position involving the capture and banding/transmitter fitting of the turkeys. After that in 2016 I started working with the Student Conservation Association as an intern in the Cuyahoga river watershed combating invasive plants with various techniques including back pack spraying and cut-stump treatments. From there I moved into a postion in New York with the SCA as an intern in the NY Excelsior Corps program and learned many skills including carpentry, stone work, trail building/maintenance, and safe operation of chainsaws and other tools as we completed service projects all over the state. Distinguishing myself in that program, i accepted a position in Williamsport PA in 2018 as a Project leader with the SCA leading a crew of 18-25 year olds in a program very similar to the one i was a part of in NY. I continued working to train young adults in conservation skills when i transferred to be the Project leader for Philadelphia, PA.
