Traveled long-term to Medellin, Colombia to expand my perspective on culture and people. Learned Spanish at a high conversational level. During this time, I taught English, primarily to adults interested in learning English to expand their horizons with regard to career and travel.

Used MatLab to program a computational model of pathological hypertrophic signaling in the heart, with the goal of predicting outcomes of signaling patterns. This was developed using experimentally observed protein activation data. The project was chosen to present at the annual Biomedical Engineering Society conference, in San Antonio, Texas.
