In this role I currently oversee a team of eight adjusters that handle indemnity claims in the states of: Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. I am responsible for ensuring that my adjusters are paying injured workers timely, accurately and appropriately. I also monitor the progress of claims to ensure that we are hitting the monthly closure goals as set forth by the company. I am also responsible for monitoring the claims to ensure that they are being handled within compliance of the jurisdiction the claim is located within.

As the medical only team lead I oversaw a team of 9 adjusters and two specialists that handled basic medical only claims with no lost time or minor litigation in the states of California, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho and New MexicoIn this role I was responsible for training new adjusters on how to use our systems and how to handle claims to our internal standards. I was responsible for conducting weekly one on one meetings to provide coaching and equip adjusters to be prepared to transition to an indemnity team.The day to day tasks consisted of assigning claims, providing guidance to adjusters to work on general claims handling procedures and issues and to provide ongoing training to all adjusters on my team.

Initially started in August 2013 handling basic medical only claims with no litigation and few compensability questions. In November of 2013 I was promoted to a medical only adjuster II and was then promoted to an Indemnity Adjuster position in April of 2014 and was then promoted to an Indemnity Adjuster III in July of 2015..I am now responsible for handling complex medical, death and litigated claims, administering benefits on these files and negotiating settlements on files. AU has high standards for customer service to the employers and claim handling procedures. I also teach training courses to new hires and internally promoted adjusters.
