Instructor for a course (LAW 6273) on Cybersecurity, Data Privacy & AI Law for the Spring 2025 term.

I have the privilege of developing and teaching a first of its kind seminar (on campus) relating to AI ethics to one of the top public research universities in the country, where I have my students think critically about ethics, how they apply to- and inform- AI regulations today, and what we can possibly expect in the future.

I develop and teach courses that examine the relationship between the intrinsically intertwined areas of Data Privacy & Cybersecurity through a practical lens in the context of app developers students interact with daily (e.g., Meta/Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, etc.)

Identify subjects concerning technology that will impact the delivery of legal services now and in the future and:•Make recommendations to other NYSBA entities and staff to provide CLE and other tools to assist NYSBA members in enhancing their practices, adapting to technological innovation, and achieving reasonable technological competence in all aspects of their practices adapting to technological innovation, and achieving reasonable technological competence in all aspects of their practices, including (without limitation) e-discovery, artificial intelligence, data privacy and cybersecurity;•Enhance protection of the public by developing and recommending needed regulations and best practices for legal technology companies and, where appropriate, by working collaboratively with legal technology companies and entrepreneurs who provide forms, referrals, artificial intelligence and other for-profit law-related services directly to legal consumers; and•Evaluate and recommend ways to use new legal technologies to bridge the “justice gap” and provide better access to courts and legal services for those unable to afford lawyers.

I show my students how generative AI technologies work and help them to develop essential skills for working with AI tools, as well as practice applying AI to solve problems while learning how AI can be deployed within an organization.
