Looking back on my graduation, I see how my years in college helped me identify what unique skills I have. As can be seen by my work experience, I am great at working with people. My first job was lifeguarding. It was here I learned how to be responsible and handle pressure situations. During my time at Ithaca College, I worked as a front desk manager at the Athletics and Events Center. It was here I was able to fine tune my communication abilities. I got better at interacting with people, working with them to solve their issues, and handling issues in a professional and respectable manner. After my transfer to Caldwell University, I then worked as a grooms attendant and bartender for Rock Island Lake Club. These positions I have had made me better at thinking on my feet. They have allowed me to make decisions based on my own judgment and handle more responsibility. Working at a wedding venue can often be a stressful environment, so I have learned to handle stress really well. Bartending is also very fast paced, so I have learned how to work efficiently and quickly, while maintaining the quality of my work. Overall, each job has helped me increase and widen the range of skills I can offer.
