I am a mechanical engineering student at North Carolina State University. Growing up in and out of hospitals always made me want to be on the other end. I wanted to be the one helping instead of always being the one being helped. I find my strengths in math, so I decided to explore the field of engineering and fell in love. The more I explored the field of engineering and watched my older brother as he began to enter the engineering workforce, I decided that I wanted to follow suit. With mechanical engineering’s broad base, I plan to pursue a graduate education with a focus on biomedical engineering, as that is where my true passion for engineering lies.I am also a student athlete that excels on the track. I race downhill mountain bikes both collegiately and professionally. I am ranked nationally, and my name is known when I show up to races. I put my all into everything, whether it be racing, studying, working, or even sleeping! I have found that I need to stay busy at all times, which resulted in me finding my first job at just 14 working at Chick-Fil-A. I worked there all through high school and my freshman year of college, working my way up the ranks, eventually moving to the kitchen, where I found enjoyment in a more consistent work environment. I love the nature of having a to do list and simply knocking one thing down at a time. Entering the summer following my freshman year, I landed an opportunity to work for Competitive Cyclist remotely. In this position, I was able to combine a lot of my passions. I can assist and help people, all with products and services that I use myself. Through my various work experiences I have learned how to effectively collaborate on a team of like-minded (and sometimes not like-minded) individuals to accomplish a variety of tasks.
