Providing specialist advice on environmental topics to support to members of the Senedd (Welsh Parliament)

I have worked as a tutor on both the Brilliant Scholars Programme (October 2021-Present) and Brilliant Tutoring Programme (October 2020-January 2021). I have designed a 6-week programme of hour-long tutorials based on my research about marine ecosystems and climate change, and delivered these to groups of 6-7 students from disadvantaged backgrounds in local state schools.

I have co-lead numerous undergraduate Earth Sciences field classes to Dorset, Arran and Oxfordshire. I have delivered academic lectures, taught practical techniques and taken responsibility for student welfare during these courses.

I work for the Department of Earth Sciences as a tutor and demonstrator supporting undergraduate teaching. I design and deliver tutorials to small groups of students and demonstrate on practical, lab-based classes in palaeobiology, climate and geochemistry. I led a weekly group of young people who are interesting in natural history. I helped them to understand how we approach questions in natural history - what evidence is available? How do we interpret it? Are there any alternative conclusions people could draw? In this programme we helped 14-16 year olds gain an understanding of the scientific method that is not readily available in school.

I worked as an English and Maths tutor for students aged 5-15 years old. I managed mixed age and ability groups of 6 at a time, as well as representing the organisation in a front desk role. The latter involved signing students in and out of the learning centre and communicating individual outcomes from the session to the students' guardians.

Cataloguing the stratigraphic and palaeontological collections of the late Prof. Martin Brasier for long-term archiving in the museum.

Organised numerous talks from prominent environmentalists and organisations for the benefit of Oxford University students and interested members of the public. Directed and oversaw the actions of the committee and directed the sustainable spending of a £700 annual budget.

Assisted in the delivery of conservation-themed talks from guest speakers and , alongside other committee members, organised a day-long symposium titled 'Providing for the Planet Without Costing the Earth' in November 2016 at the Oxford Martin School.

Processing planktic and benthic foram samples for Mg/Ca and D18O analyses. This was done as data collection to aid a PhD project reconstructing palaeoclimate around the Mid-Pleistocene transition.
