Currently employees at Southern Energy Management as Building Performance Field Rater. Primarily in charge of performing residential building inspections. Inspect new residential buildings for code compliance and energy efficient construction features including framing, insulation, air barrier, and HVAC. Perform diagnostic testing for whole house air leakage and duct leakage in new homes to calculate energy efficiency performance. Communicate directly with home builders and trades, to help them meet their energy efficiency and sustainability goalsGraduate from Appalachian State University who has obtained a BS in Building Science with a concentration in Sustainable Building Systems, and a minor in Sustainable Technology. With this, I learned how to design and correctly implement sustainable systems into new and existing buildings, how to design energy efficient and passive buildings, understanding the how to design mechanical and passive systems, and construction management, commissioning, and scheduling. I have gained experience working at Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) as a project manager in the facilities department. Typical duties include building envelope testing and assessment, water intrusion testing and consulting, project quality assurance, conducting property condition assessments, materials testing, load testing, and client contact/invoicing.
