Ultimately, my PhD research aimed to better understand what factors most influence a person's taste and preference in concert hall acoustics, and how this taste varies between individuals. Measurements of 21 concert halls around North America and Europe were made with a spherical microphone array and a spherical loudspeaker array for realistic and repeatable measurements between halls. Then, subjective testing was be conducted using the AURAS facility, which I constructed for my masters research. This testing has begun to provide insights into an individual's preference in concert hall acoustics. -
