Since then, during vacations, as well as train planning he has worked alongside the TPU in operations and engineering interface areas such as developing berthing provision. His periods within both the operations and engineering functions means he can see railway issues from both perspectives being able to identify corporate solutions that recognise the constraints and capabilities of different departments.
