I am Matthew Weinbrum from Boca Raton, Florida. My goal is to graduate from Kelley with a dual major in finance and either accounting or marketing, as well as to graduate with honors. In my career, I am interested in working in the front offices of professional sports organizations, as well as major accounting firms. Over the summer I had the opportunity to work for a professional sports organization in the finance department, which captured my interest as I played sports for my whole life. Heading into summer, my experience in business was limited to mainly the classroom. Going into my first day, I was extremely nervous that I would mess up. I was immediately challenged, as I had to make an important call. Without hesitation, I picked up the phone and delivered. Overcoming my fear allowed me to become comfortable working, which turned into my greatest learning experience. I have always been a passionate numbers guy, and have always been able to connect well with people, which has also made me a strong public speaker. These qualities transfer well into these careers, which will hopefully help me find success in the field. I have developed these skills through working for a majority of my life, as I volunteered my time at my dads sports league for more than half of my life, helping many customers with their varying needs. I plan to use these skills that I have developed throughout both my working life and social life in order to excel at whichever career path I decide to pursue.
