I led the development of the D2N2 Local Industrial Strategy, including co-ordinating a multi-university evidence partnership. I led the review of the D2N2 Strategic Economic Plan, including co-ordinating ‘deep dive’ reviews into the D2N2 Productivity Gap and Inclusive Growth. I led the successful development and implementation of a strategy to invest D2N2’s c.€250m European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF). I led D2N2 executive function on ESIF funding, including leading reporting to the D2N2 ESIF Committee, facilitating the strategic review of bids and design, scheduling and promotion of funding calls; securing virtually full commitment of ERDF funding and a coherent plan to sustain the benefits of ESF funding until the Shared Prosperity Fund becomes available. I initiated and led collaborative work with East and West Midlands LEPs, HMG and the British Business Bank to develop the £250m Midlands Engine Investment Fund
