I worked on the Notary Experience team, charged with everything the Notary touches. Working closely with product and design, I would outline a project’s scope, timelines, resources required for implementation, and bring it to fruition. Some of the contributions I made are:Brought value to the Notary experience by implementing analytics interfaces that give them better insights into active sources of revenue and their performance. I enhancing integrity of notarial acts which reduced invalid notarizations. I created an invitation flow for easier team management, effectively reducing the load on our internal Notary Operations team.

I assisted in developing HIPAA-compliant data management software for Healthcare, Mental Health, Educational Systems, and various other clients in the public sector. Full stack: JS/AngularJS/React with Ruby/Rails & React Native (iOS/Android). Developed several core product features, optimizations, utilizing a wide variety of tools from Redis, MongoDB, Postgres, and various AWS services (e.g. Lambda, SQS, OpenSearch). Lead feature planning from initial requirements, to UI/UX, to implementation. Planned and implemented significant refactors/rewrites to core services and architecture. Collaborated with clients to gather requirements, sprint planning with demo/review, debug evasive issues, and assist in comprehensive analysis to assure data integrity. Mentored several developers on both backend and front end engineering and lead several lunch learns / brown bag sessions.I aided in acquiring an important client by allocating a portion of my time to building a housing platform (web/mobile/salesforce integration) that serves the homeless population find homes. This allowed us to bring on another engineer and increase MRR for the primary platform.Played a critical role in rescuing a data import/export project for our largest client at the time. The effort required reverse engineering a project abandoned by another developer (who left the company), fixing it, optimizing it, and bringing it to completion. This work unlocked thousands of new users for our platform.

I built thegrailhunter.com platform and mobile applications from the ground up for Funko Pop! collectors world wide. Using Node with a proxy I scraped data from paginated websites and hidden APIs that I backwards engineered, with automatic retry via Exponential Backoff. The data was piped that into Algolia (later moved to AWS OpenSearch) and Postgres to drive the iOS and Android React Native applications. I polled eBay’s legacy and new APIs and gathered the data in S3 so that we could eventually run price variation analysis to help buyers. The data was used to the drive an alert system (AWS SNS) to notify users of price drops within a threshold that they configured in the application. The backend platform was comprised of AWS Lambda functions via an event-driven architecture using AWS SQS and SNS. I used CloudWatch to monitor the system and send me email and slack alerts if metrics were out of band.

Worked closely with the Customer Relations team to optimize their workflow for dealing with customer issues. Built plugins for 3rd party software to smooth integration across applications. Developed features for support messaging and internal communications.

Straddling front-end and back-end on projects for Flipboard, Google and Nike. Working closely with and contributing to a custom application management system written entirely in Clojure. Using service-based architectures to drive rich JavaScript applications. Lead developer on Flipboard project, a marketing website with a wide variety of interactive elements and JavaScript widgets.

Worked on a variety of projects spanning both front-end and back-end development. I’ve developed HTTP API’s for complex SQL/NoSQL hybrid datastores using Ruby. Used Rails and Sinatra as a framework for several applications currently in production. Architected complex client-heavy applications with rich features and interactions.

Worked as project lead and organizing an international team for the company’s primary client. Collaboration with the client on a regular basis regarding usability and application design. Initiated and led in implementing an entire redesign/refactorization of the project’s front-end to be more efficient, easier to maintain, and gearing up for future technologies (HTML5, Rails 3).

Worked primarily as a front-end developer and graphic designer. Introduced and converted the team to Git (from SVN) and helped them pick up Ruby on Rails (a PHP shop). Interacted regularly with clients to collaborate on design, workflow, and content strategy.

Conceived, developed, and maintained a full-service graphic design studio. Designed and implemented dozens of websites (using both Ruby on Rails and PHP), logos, and various printed materials. Managed the accounting, clients, and projects. Worked in collaboration with business partner on design and handled all of the website development.
