About Matthew Willis

Growing up with parents who are both public servants, the idea of serving others has always been a passion of mine. I was driven from a young age to give back to my community through my involvement in the Boy Scouts of America and my church youth group. I carried this passion with me to college where I pursued a degree in history with the idea of joining the State Department and serving my country abroad as a diplomat. By the end of my tenure however I realized that my interest was truly in public service at a state and local level where I could have a direct impact on individual’s lives. As such, I began pursuing my master’s degree in public administration at the University of Kansas. Having recently completed my degree I am seeking to begin my career in public service so that I can embark on the next phase of service to my community.
