I love the elderly! It all started in my early 20s when I made weekly visits to a local rehab facility with my college friends. We would spend a few hours talking to the residents and bring joy to them through song. It made my heart full!It took a few years for me to come back to that feeling. It sparked again when my great aunt, who was like another grandmother, passed away from Parkinson’s and dementia. I realized, after being unable to attended her funeral due to military obligations, that I wanted to help seniors live dignified and joyful lives. This renewed love of seniors led me to pursue a degree in healthcare administration.My love of athletic challenges has taught me: The higher you aim, the further you land from where you began.
