For the last several years I have worked as a consultant and as a researcher of motivation, teams, innovation, and leadership. Before that, so many other things. The tl;dr of the paragraphs below: While having a wide assortment of roles, I've always been curious about how to help people thrive in & at their work, and one day I finally set out to figure out how. That's the puzzle I will continue to solve.In grad school, I studied how to practically apply the scientific study of motivation, personality, emotions, leadership, and team leadership in the workplace. My dissertation investigates how team leader behaviors affect the team's innovative capabilities and to what degree psychological safety plays a part. Before stepping into my doctoral work, I dedicated years to studying and developing new & alternative training platforms and development programs. I have partnered with for-profit, non-profit, and religious organizations to develop holistic training structures.In addition to learning and development, I have had the opportunity to take on various roles, resulting in an assorted set of business, interpersonal, and mechanical skills. I have maintained client relationships, developed new partnerships for multiple organizations, managed projects in construction applications, estimated bids, created/managed websites, and performed administrative duties. Before that, I gained hands-on experience in the construction industry. I can operate various types of heavy machinery, perform high-pressure hydrostatic tests, and have been a DOT-certified pipeline welder. My responsibilities in pipeline welding included pipe fitting, reading prints, and custom fabrication.
