Elite And Development Football Coach
I coach children who have been scouted to train for Wycombe Wanderers, playing matches primarily during school holidays.I currently coach U9s at two Development Centre venues, and the Elite Centre. I also coach the Girls Development Centre U12. Many players I have coached have been subsequently scouted by and signed for professional football clubs with Academy setups, including Category 1 clubs. Others have represented England at youth levels, and play in the WSL.We only get to work with players for 2-4 hours a week. Therefore, much of my focus is giving the players things they can work on at home/school/their weekend clubs, both technical and tactical. I try to give the players the tools they need to independently make and execute good decisions, in both attacking and defensive situations.
Pe Lead
Chiltern Wood School is a special school for children with a broad diversity of complex needs. I started as a class based Teaching Assistant (September 2015), and started to deliver PE the following academic year. I now lead the delivery of PE across all classes on site, and achieved ("outstanding") QTS in July 2022.I plan, deliver and record progress in PE across all classes, developing a range of skills including motor skills, coordination, balance and social skills. I work closely with class teams and therapists to develop activities to suit each individual's needs.I also plan and deliver Rebound Therapy sessions for pupils who most require additional interventions, and who would benefit the most. These are designed to improve a pupil's balance; core strength; confidence; communication skills; and their ability for self-regulation.
Teaching Assistant
Chiltern Wood School is a special school for children with a broad diversity of complex needs. As an agency staff member, I worked in a wide range of classes, assisting with children's education, alongside the class teachers, as required. This includes National Curriculum subjects as well as developing their physical and social skills. At the end of the academic year I was offered (and accepted) a full time role within the school.
Sport Development Manager
My main role in the job was relationship management with our onsite partners, ensuring that they had the best possible conditions in which to work and develop their athletes into Olympic and World Champions. These include England Hockey, the English Institute of Sport, GB Canoeing and British Shooting.I also liaised with elite teams who stay in our accommodation and use the World Class facilities to maximise the effects of their training camps and sessions held at Bisham Abbey. The majority of these were International Hockey teams, visiting Bisham Abbey to play the various England teams in preparation for tournaments, including the Commonwealth Games.Visiting football teams included the England Women (seniors, U21 and U17), the Saudi Arabia National Team, Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC. Other roles included ensuring that any other events with connections to sport ran smoothly on site, including corporate and charity football tournaments and visits by the Royal Family to our onsite partners, in recognition of the superb work they were doing.
Teaching Assistant
Teacher Of Physical Education
I delivered core P.E to years 7-11, and worked hard to develop on the extra curricular programme. I also had responsibility for a form group, and carried out other duties around school. Part of my role was to create partnerships with local primary schools in order to increase the intake at Year 7 into Queensmead's affiliated school, Northwood. I started this project from conception in 2011. I developed a strategy which would involve the pupils, providing them with maximum enjoyment, as well as appeasing their teachers with high quality sessions and teaching. As well as this, The pupils were also made aware of Northwood's facilities and activities available to secondary school students, both verbally and through written material. Such was the success of the project that after the 2 years had finished, intake had increased by around 90%.
Disability Football Project Manager
The project provided young people who: have severe learning disabilities; powerchair users; and visually impaired the opportunity to play football I managed all aspects of delivery of the project from conception: I established relationships with schools, sport centres and professional coaches, creating links between them so that coaching could take place throughout the year and at their convenience. I distributed of funds and equipment to schools, and monitored the amount and quality of coaching that was taking place in schools and boroughs. I was also in charge of the organisation of regular tournaments, using my negotiating skills to obtain the best price for venues, and for arranging FA qualified referees to officiate. At the end of each year I collated all the statistics and feedback from each borough, to develop a thorough written report into the successes of the project, as well as a needs analysis and goals for the coming year(s).By the end of the project over 600 new participants received coaching and had competed in 1100 competitive games.
Sport Development Officer
I developed and delivered high quality sessions and projects at a range of venues, from schools to the Academy.I used my communication and marketing skills to increase participation, and analytical skills to track statistics and find solutions to problems that arose.
