My practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate, private equity investments, and other general business transactions. I regularly represent clients in complex sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions across various industries. I work with developers and sponsors in the structuring of real estate investment funds in various asset classes, including investments in opportunity zone funds and businesses. My sports law practice has focused on the representation of athletes in the negotiation of endorsement contracts, athlete agent agreements, and other commercial rights. In addition, I have represented tax-exempt amateur athletic organizations in obtaining 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. I have been a USA Track and Field authorized athlete agent and manager for many professional track and field athletes.I was a professional runner, sponsored by Nike, and a member of two U.S. national teams. As a collegiate at William & Mary, I was an 11-time NCAA Division I All-American and the 2001 U.S. Track Coaches Association Athlete of the Year. In 2011, I was inducted into the College of William & Mary Athletic Hall of Fame.
