Simulations Engineering Intern
Elyria, Ohio, United States
In August of 2024, I completed my second internship rotation at Parker Hannifin Hydraulic Valve Systems in Elyria, Ohio. During this time as a Simulations Engineering Intern, I tackled Master's-level computational fluid dynamics and design program optimization projects:• I conducted steady-state analyses of spool valve behaviors to validate lab data, contributing to improved spool design by analyzing the effects of spool notches on pressure drops and flow forces. • I collaborated closely with Ansys application engineers to develop a code for extracting spool flow areas and rates, accelerating the design process, and utilized Ansys OptiSLang to recommend optimal spool designs for various client needs.• I helped integrate virtual and augmented reality headsets into the branch to help innovate team member training, customer marketing, and technician machine troubleshooting.
