CADRE is a flight technology demonstration with the goal of advancing robotic exploration through collaborative, autonomous exploration via navigating, communicating, computing, perceiving, and decision-making without human interaction. The project will launch on a NASA Commercial Lunar Payload Services system to Reiner Gamma in late 2023 and use a team of small multi-agent rovers to autonomously explore the daytime lunar environment and perform a distributed measurement.

Lead engineer responsible for the design, build, test, and qualification of the Perseverance Rover’s five degree of freedom Robotic Arm.

Led the hardware and software team in achieving annual milestones of a simulated asteroid landing and sampling using the ATHLETE and the Low-Gravity Testbed. ATHLETE is the All-Terrain Hex-Limbed Extra-Terrestrial Explorer, a four meter tall, six-limbed, prototype exploration vehicle for use in demonstrating advanced concepts in space exploration.

Led the electro-mechanical design of RoboSimian, a four-limbed, common joint design, first responder/rescue robot designed to semi-autonomously compete in the DARPA Robotics Challenge. The robot ultimately placed 5 out of 16 teams in the competition.

Led mechanism design for microspine grippers and robotics under Dr. Aaron Parness. Outfitted the existing LEMUR robot with microspine grippers and successfully climbed vertical and horizontal (hanging) natural rock surfaces.

Created course in engineering for artists in entertainment and product design. Boils down engineering school and life experience into a 10-week course. Presents topic such as aerodynamics, structures, and practical physics in a manner that artists can understand, enjoy, and utilize to make their designs more realistic for whatever worlds they create.

Oversaw all aspects of mechanical design, engineering and manufacturing for LaneHawk, Evolution Robotics’ camera based, retail loss prevention system.

Technical lead in charge of mechanical design and manufacturing of Evolution Robotics’ Scorpion Robot, an application development robot sold to universities and other companies.

Support mechanical engineer for ER1/ER2, Evolution Robotics’ personal robots.
