The Pamplin AR project was started a few years ago under the supervision of various amazing faculty members to produce an augmented-reality exposition of the history of the Pamplin Historical Park. I was brought on to investigate a few different possible methods that we could use to demonstrate the information that was previously compiled. My main investigations have been using the Google Streetscape API with Unity to create a simulated culling mask that would allow us to place digital elements "behind" the real environment. In doing so, I have become acutely familiar with navigating and using the Google API service and the challenges faced when developing an augmented reality application.

Upon the completion of the virtual reality solar system simulation created with ARIES, I was hired by EchoLabs to help run demonstrations and make modifications to the system as needed. We have conducted various exhibits with local schools, the Science Museum of Western Virginia, as well as at various Center for Human-Computer Interaction (CHCI) and Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT) events.

ARIES enlisted me as an immersive developer to contribute to diverse educational and historical projects over the past few years. This opportunity enabled me to enhance both my technical and artistic competencies using a range of systems and software. Among the projects I tackled at ARIES are a lifelike VR simulation of the solar system aimed at educating students about celestial bodies, numerous 8th-wall AR applications showcasing historical artifacts and artistic renditions of local structures, and the creation of a diorama-style representation of a decimated town for an upcoming projection mapping endeavor.Throughout my time at ARIES, I've had the chance to acquaint myself with technologies I never imagined mastering as a student, including laser scanning, motion capture, and cutting-edge VR headsets.

The purpose of this internship was to design various augmented reality (AR) experiences that could be used on the site of the town of Vauquois, Frace which was destroyed during WW1. Using 8th-wall, a web-based virtual reality developing system, I created various experiences designed to demonstrate the various 3D models and 3D scans created for this demonstration. Each experience was designed to follow one of the many trail markers on site, showing the related artifact to the location it was relevant to. After creating and re-engineering the various 3D models, I then traveled to Vauquois France to test and modify the simulations as needed.

I worked as a help desk technician and provided any walk-in customer with their required services in a timely manner. I also managed the online ticket system which required extensive knowledge of hardware and software support.
