About Matt Bucher

I’m a Senior Systems Designer/Engineer with years of management experience, and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing large-scale enterprise solutions predicated on corporate strategy and industry best practices. I’ve always been able to design successful solutions for problems handed to me. For example, shortly after being hired by New Mexico’s Human Services Division, there was a security breach in a system that pre-dated me. The new CIO tasked me with finding and correcting it, then building a new, highly secure environment. Despite the awkwardness of being temporarily placed over my bosses, we found the breach, fixed it, and I created and implemented a highly secure environment, using existing equipment (Dell Blade Chassis), that soon passed security audits and conformed to NIST standards.I’m passionate about learning the latest technologies, and applying that knowledge to a design that will provide a lasting, cost-effective, optimal solution. When asked to develop and implement a backup solution for a large State Division, I trained on NetBackup and worked closely with engineers who taught me to be a storage administrator, and to scale out the entire system using available funds. The solution designed is still in use today, and includes 55 remote sites, 2 data centers, replication to a DR site with off-site tape backup, and has been tested successfully in disaster recovery scenarios.I’m proud of having been selected to lead the infrastructure team when the State needed to build a highly advanced, redundant, optimized and secure infrastructure to process medical claims, statewide, for providers and patients. I was trained and began working with technology that was cutting edge. I applied that knowledge and helped develop an infrastructure that processed $90+ million dollars in medical claims per month. I want to work with an IT company where I can mentor, lead teams, and create large-scale enterprise solutions from beginning to end.
