Research Assistant
Performed research and analysis on Chagas disease, specifically, the associated intellectual property, under Professor Stanley Kowalski. Chagas disease is a neglected tropical disease, of epidemic proportions in some regions, of increasing concern to the developed world. It is spread by biting insects, but can also be spread through blood transfusions and other means. It is caused by the parasite Trypanosoma cruzi. This research is being done in order to increase awareness of the disease, and hopefully increase spending on diagnosis and treatment.
