I am a partner at DLA Piper and Chair of the firm’s litigation practice in Northern California. As a former federal prosecutor, I represent public company boards, audit committees, companies and executives in anti-corruption, fraud and related internal and government investigations. I also advise on due diligence and compliance matters and I specialize in helping clients navigate around and through issues that threaten their reputations and their business. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney I successfully co-led the prosecutions of Enron’s energy traders for their roles in the manipulation of the California energy markets as well as a series of white collar and securities enforcement prosecutions. As a prosecutor, I was privileged to work for Robert S. Mueller III, and I handled all press inquiries for the Justice Department in Northern California. But for the last 17 years I have been on the defense side and have served as lead counsel representing technology, financial services, energy, heavy industry and health care com pansies and executives. Before I was a lawyer, I was a newspaper editor in Shreveport, Louisiana. Before coming to DLA, I was the managing partner of Vinson & Elkins’ San Francisco office.
