About Matthew Swift
Upon giving my profile a glance, it would be hard to believe that I was not the biggest fan of football until I was at least 15. In fact, I did not really care for any sport until then, only my computer. I guess I have my grandma and the 2014 World Cup to thank for igniting this spark which has flourished into a huge love for the beautiful game.Despite a late start into the sport, jumping head first at every opportunity presented to me has provided so many experiences to develop my knowledge of the game. From coaching U18s in Zimbabwe to U8s in St Helens, I know there are plenty more opportunities to be had, opportunities that I am and will work so hard to experience.Studying football coaching and management at UCFB has allowed me to practice, study and learn this unpredictable game within a more academic environment. Global summits have provided me with opportunities to travel abroad (Miami, New York and Toronto) through which I have networked, studied and delivered field specific case studies to various club executives and officials. As more advanced systems start to lurk further and further into the sport, my love for technology at a young age has undoubtably led me to be digitally proficient within football specific computerised software. I am always willing to collaborate and listen to ideas in order to identify new ways to incorporate technology and AI within my roles.Overall, I feel I am flourishing into a passionate coach who is committed and dedicated to the development of football players, no matter the age, gender or ability.
