I established Our COMMON Foundation in 2007. Our mission is to combine the power of an incubator with philanthropy and social entrepreneurship to support, promote, and develop non-profit ideas and organizations in the US and abroad that benefit people, the planet, and peace. Finally, we remain committed to Ukraine and will focus on defending democracy and supporting Ukraine's defense of its sovereign territory with sustained attention on the war through public showings of Ukraine Under Fire, directed by Jordan Campbell. At the helm, I oversee the long-term strategic vision, meticulous budgeting, and establishment of robust operational plans and systems to realize our foundation's goals while remaining compliant with non-profit law. Additionally, I spearhead vetting new projects and programs while forging meaningful domestic and international partnerships. Working closely with a dedicated core team, founders, and creators, I lead and advise on developing and implementing strategic initiatives.Since our inception, we've launched impactful initiatives worldwide on a range of themes: sustainable development, agricultural and conservation efforts, documentary films, fine arts and performing arts, Water, Access to Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), educational scholarships focused on underserved students, humanitarian efforts, immigrant legal advocacy, and other great causes.

Principal Investigator - United States Department of State Bureau of Oceans, Environment, and International Scientific Affairs Grant to NOAA Research, Office of International ActivitiesIn April 2002, I led NOAA Research’s Office of International Activities (IA) submission of a proposal to the Department of State’s (DOS) Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs Initiative (OESI) to assess the feasibility of adapting the Sea Grant model of linked applied research, extension, and education to Latin America and the Wider Caribbean region. The overall goal was to determine whether or not university-based programs with these three features could serve as an appropriate institutional mechanism to address critical marine and coastal resource issues in a developing country context. The initiative followed expressions of interest from government and university officials in Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Ecuador to develop long-term Sea Grant-like programs. The University of Central America (UCA), Nicaragua; University of Zamorano, Honduras; the University of El Salvador; and the Escuela Superior Politecnica del Litoral (ESPOL) in Ecuador have all worked in cooperation with International Activities, the National Sea Grant College Program (NSGCP), the University of Rhode Island Sea Grant, and the Coastal Resources Center (CRC) to complete the goals of the OESI grant. Marine Policy Journal published the results in May 2007.
