I am searching for a career opportunity that will challenge my skills in the field of engineering and design. I have been working in the automotive industry for a total of 20 years, 5 of those years were as an “Advanced Vehicle Prototype Technician” and 15 years as a Catia V4 and V5 Product Designer. For the first 7 years of my Catia V4 product design career, I worked on a variety of drivetrain systems and components including manual and automatic transmission adaptation, controls, shift cables, 4x4 adapter and 4x2 extension housings. I was well known in Chrysler’s Rapid Prototype Department because of my extensive use of Stereo-Lithography, carbon fiber, wood modeling and other common prototyping methods, striving to reduce cost by verifying designs before components were released. For the last 8 years of my product design career, I worked in “Advanced Vehicle Engineering – Chassis/Powertrain” at Chrysler. My job duties included complete powertrain packaging, exhaust system design and packaging multiple vehicles across Jeep and Dodge Truck platforms. In addition, I performed 8 week complete chassis/drivetrain feasibility studies, while proposing design changes and concepts to resolve packaging issues. I also spent a lot of time designing front and rear suspension systems, working along with the Knowledge Base Engineering group pilot testing Catia V5 KBE suspension templates for function and accuracy. Many of my recommendations to improve usability were implemented into the KBE template designs.I am always willing to take on the tough design and packaging problems. I am a “Big Picture Thinker” who is not afraid of a packaging or design challenge. My focus is on the details of every design to make sure the components can be manufactured, assembled, and serviced. Thinking “Outside-the-Box” comes to me naturally.
