I have experience as an entrepreneur in the commercial 'for-purpose' sector as well as experience as an entrepreneur in the not for profit sector. I currently invest in, advise on and assist early and growth stage NZ companies with their capital raises as part of Snowball, work on some private investments for a family office, and enjoy mentoring entrepreneurs and early stage businesses.Most recently I established, launched and grew joyful.org in Australia and NZ to >$1m saas recurring revenue within a year. Joyful was a subsidiary of RaisingIT.com, the UK's leading charity website and fundraising platform, until we were acquired in April 2019 by The Access Group.Prior to Joyful, I founded Gnewt in 2009 and led it to an acquisition in 2017. Gnewt was a UK first - a totally zero emissions at point of use logistics business. We delivered and collected parcels and packages the 'final mile' within cities using a fleet of entirely electric vehicles. At exit the fleet was over 100 strong and delivered upwards of 5 million items every year in the UK. Clients included other parcel carriers, businesses and retailers. Gnewt was acquired in August 2017 by Menzies Distribution, then part of John Menzies Plc.I also have experience in the not-for-profit sector having co-founded BlueVentures.org (BV) in 2002, an organisation with operations in Madagascar, Belize and Timor-Leste that develops transformative approaches for catalysing and sustaining locally led marine conservation. BV works in places where the ocean is vital to local cultures and economies, and is committed to protecting marine biodiversity in ways that benefit coastal people.I also co-founded Feedpack, a way for consumers to give feedback quickly and easily to businesses via their smartphone. The first product was the Feedpack Delivery App (in conjunction with Metapack.com), which pushes to a consumer's smartphone updates on the delivery progress of their item as well as allowing them to feedback on their doorstep experience - vital information that retailers and carriers need.
