It was during this time that I supported the UI team for one of Nielsen's top initiatives as a Program Scrum Master. As we progressed through the transformation, I became an advocate for Agile within the organization by regularly sharing best practices, and participating as a panelist in multiple Agile symposiums. For day to day work, I supported the UI scrum teams by ensuring cadences were followed, team performance metrics were provided to leadership, and commitments were delivered as promised. In this two year period I helped promote a positive, cohesive, and productive team culture, where the scrum teams took ownership of their work, and made great progress towards being self-directed teams. I chronicled our team's successful transformation in an internal white paper discussing our experiences on what things worked, what things did not work, and what were the benefits of working in this fashion. It was during this period where I obtained certifications as a SAFe Certified Scrum Master (SSM), and a SAFe Certified Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM). Show less

In this role I have supported multiple high profile digital programs that are the future of the Nielsen "Watch" business. I began by leading the requirements effort for another system modernization effort focusing mainly on the rewrite of a statistical engine. Supporting this program gave me the opportunity to work closely with Nielsen's statistical teams and help translate their methods to clear and valuable system requirements consumable by development and QA teams. 2013 - 2014As the main requirements effort for this program came to a close I supported a suite of new digital products that would become the centerpiece of Nielsen's digital strategy. For this program I focused on the backend processing systems. I worked closely with system analysts, architecture and development teams to ensure requirements were accurate, aligned and understood. As segments of these digital projects were developed and released over the next year, I also assumed a project management role for a digital R&D project and drove international expansion migration activities for the modernization program that I previously supported. For the international expansion, I successfully helped migrate the release of this platform to Nielsen local teams and clients in Brazil and New Zealand in four months. During this period I also initiated a Six Sigma project that was focused on reducing requirement artifact defects. For this initiative, I formed a cross-functional team, held a Kaizen event, and utilized the various six sigma tools (Pareto Charts, VSM, Cause & Effect diagram etc) to reduce the amount of defects logged against requirements by 90%.2015For 2015 I supported Nielsen's top "Watch" initiative as a Lead Business Analyst. In this initial role I learned and effectively applied the fundamentals of Business Analysis, and SDLC while supporting two enhancement projects using XP methodology.2007 - 2009After successful delivery of the enhancement projects, I quickly took on a larger challenge by providing dedicated BSA support to a system modernization initiative for the "Buy" side of the Nielsen business. For 18 months I drove all requirements efforts for this international system while learning the consumer side of the Nielsen business. I also had the privilege of working closely with an international team based out of 4 countries.2009 - 2011As requirements for the modernization project concluded I was selected as a Business Analyst Lead to support a new global reference data system. This program was one of Nielsen’s key strategic initiatives for 2009-10. For this project I drove all requirements efforts and directed and worked with a small team of Business Analysts. It was during this period where there was an opportunity to improve the requirement artifacts that were currently being used within Nielsen. I volunteered to work with the PMO and collaborate with a cross discipline team to help improve all requirements templates being used by the company. Show less
