Network Engineer
Current•Implemented Security Technical Implementation Guidance, hardening, and other technical controls to meet security requirements and address system findings identified in the system’s Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) document. •Install and test new network software including upgrades, fixes, and patches. •Develop plans and designs for network modifications and enhancements. •Palo Alto, and resident Cisco network and hardware SME.•Implemented new requirements and architecture changes high to low, low to high.•Update and maintain networking documentation. •Managed all product/service work through JIRA and Confluence. •Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and Route 53 and Network merge, and WAF implementation.•Proficient in deploying, configuring, and managing scalable, highly available, and secure infrastructure on AWS.•Strong knowledge of AWS best practices and ability to optimize cost and performance of AWS resources.•Network design: Creating and implementing network designs that meet the performance, security, and scalability requirements of the organization.• Network maintenance: Ensuring that the network is operating effectively, including monitoring and troubleshooting network issues.•Network security: Implementing and maintaining network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.•Vendor management: Managing relationships with network equipment vendors and service providers to ensure that the organization is receiving the best possible services and products.•Team leadership: Providing technical leadership and guidance to other network engineers, and collaborating with other IT teams to ensure that the network is integrated with other systems and applications.•Capacity planning: Analyzing network traffic patterns and capacity utilization to identify potential bottlenecks and plan for future capacity needs.
