Responsibilities:· Own the development and discovery of key breakthrough solutions in support of future products. · Design and coordinate standard engineering tests, research and experiments.· Define, develop, evaluate and verify designs to meet scope requirements.· Prepare standard-reports/documentation to communicate results to a technical team.· Create and drive schedules, timelines and resource requirements.· Work with and start conversations with multiple functional disciplines for design input, requirements and potential solutions to problems.· Use CAD, CFE, and FEA environment to create, develop, analyze, and document components and assemblies.· Identify and design to requirements as required in this field· Interface with suppliers focused on multiple disciplines of critical and new components.· Work with current and emerging technologies to develop a technology map for long term company success· Work under minimal supervision· Assist with grant submissions to the National Institutes of Health· Assist in generating innovative technology ideas· Assist with proposing early-stage research projects to federal grant agencies· Directing and performing on the resultant or other research projects· Help manage the technology transfer process to commercial partners leading up to production
