Currently the Director for HIV and Sexual Health at ACON, I am responsible for ACON’s HIV and Sexual Health Programming, including large-scale social marketing campaigns, such as the award-winning, Ending HIV campaign which seeks to virtually eliminate HIV transmissions in NSW. By encouraging gay men to test more, treat early and stay safe.► Support the team to achieve their annual KPIs, including increasing HIV testing, education around effective prevention strategies and engaging gay men or HIV positive men to engage in treatment as soon as possible. ► Align program initiatives to the NSW Government funding procurement agreement, primarily supporting policy submissions, executing large-scale campaigns, through coordinated activities; workshops, outreach and forums. ► Advocate for LGBTQ communities in the participation in research activities, inclusion of communities in health priorities and national and state-based health strategies and advocate for the importance of inclusion and representation of communities in the development and implementation of programs. ► Support National health strategies through digital awareness and education programs, offering education to gay men and other men who have sex with men, through stealth health sexual health website emen8.com.au.
Principal Planner
Developed integrated social marketing campaigns primarily focused on ending HIV transmissions in NSW by 2020 by encouraging gay men to engage in testing, prevention and treatment strategies. ► Partnered with businesses to strategically increase community engagement, working with UBER, Local Councils, Sydney Busess and other community organisations. ► Collaborated with studio and creative teams to align branding across radio and digital advertising, billboards, and car wrapping, as well as PR strategies within pubs, clubs and festivals. ► Lifted community engagement with hugely successful creative campaigns, such as engaging a famous Drag Queen to show people the HIV testing process, resulting in 2800K shares and millions of views.► Davelopment of target campaigns for LGBTIQ people with a cervix and breasts, focused on increasing screening and prevention rates breast and cervical cancer.
Communications & Campaigns Manager/Communications And Advocacy Officer
Improved the internal and external communications for the regional network by project managing the organisational rebranding process, including working with a creative consultant team (Junxion Strategy) and other significant stakeholders to review and improve the corporate brand, including logo, mission, vision, brand story and website. Further achievements included: ►Represented APCOM at a regional and national level, including major stakeholder management with international organisations, such as UNAIDS, UNDP, UNESCO and UNICEF, federal and local governments, as well as donors and civil society organisations.► Launched the TestBKK campaign in 2014 and turned it into a multi-city initiative. ► Introduced the first community-led regional consultation on PrEP, for countries in throughout Asia and the Pacific regions. ► Contributed to the agency’s growth from 2 to 16 staff, launching the rebranding and website development and strategy implementations end-to-end, including marketing and researching. ► Developed a knowledge information hub by migrating content from legacy sources, leveraging new branding research and articles to increase interest for people working with MSM, and transgender people within the region.► Wrote engaging and informative reports and funding submissions, including the writing of significant project funding acquittals and the organisation’s annual report.
